We have recently upgraded to use the new Cisco Finesse product, which uses OpenFire. We are part of the federal government and all of our users use the mail attribute for user ID, on all of our applications (firstName_lastName@XXX.gov)
Unfortunately, OpenFire does not appear to support this type of authentication. I am wondering if there are plans to change this in the near future, as this voids security requirements made by the government. I know there are rules against using escape characters, however these are not in the list of defined escape characters set by Microsoft AD. I appreciate your support!
